Research Culture Community of Practice Event 2025

On Monday 14 July, we brought together colleagues from across the University and beyond for a full-day celebration of the people, projects, and ideas shaping research culture at Leeds.
Whether attendees were researchers, technicians, postdocs, PGRs, professional services staff, academics, or simply curious about the culture of research – this event was for them.
Hosted by the Research Culture Team, the day was all about community: connecting, sharing, learning, and celebrating the bold, creative work happening across our institution to make research more inclusive, supportive, just and sustainable.
What happened:
We curated a packed and engaging programme featuring:
- A keynote from a leading voice in the sector
- Presentations, lightning talks, and short films
- Interactive workshops
- Posters
- Q&As, discussions, and opportunities to connect
- Celebrations of what’s working across our Leeds research community and wider networks
The day explored the real-world ways colleagues are reshaping research culture in their areas, sparking reflection, inspiration, and momentum across the University.
